Kolibri is building a startup-studio-inspired model for emerging-market founders who need more than advice: the right skills, execution capacity, and strategic support at the right moment.
Kolibri works as a trusted operating partner, bringing together selected founders, and qualified contributors around structured missions.
Contributors join these missions to help promising ventures move faster, transfer know-how to local teams, and participate in the value eventually realized through Kolibri.

Why Kolibri exists
Operating support, structured for the moments that matter.
Many founders in emerging markets have the ambition and potential to build meaningful ventures. At key moments, what they need is the right operating support: access to specific skills, strategic guidance, execution capacity, networks, and contributors who can help them structure their next step.
At the same time, many professionals, including diaspora members, entrepreneurs and sector experts, want to contribute to meaningful ventures, but need a trusted and structured way to do it.
Kolibri is being built to bridge that gap
Current stage
Building the conditions before opening missions.
Kolibri is currently preparing its first pilot in Rwanda.
Before opening contributor applications, we are identifying serious founders, understanding their real capability gaps, building local partnerships, speaking with potential investors and institutions, and defining the first missions that could create concrete value.
We may also explore selected entrepreneurial SMEs where a new product, market, or growth initiative fits the Kolibri model.
The goal is to open only structured missions: with clear roles, deliverables, timelines, milestones, validation criteria, equity terms, value-sharing logic, skills-transfer objectives, and collaboration rules.
A structured model for useful contribution
Clarity from the start. Value through execution.
Kolibri is designed to build trust between all parties by making each mission clear, structured, and aligned from the start.
02
Startup studio support
Kolibri does not simply match founders and contributors. It acts as a trusted operating partner, structuring the relationship, clarifying roles, and helping missions move from potential to execution.
03
Structured missions
Roles, deliverables, milestones, timelines, validation criteria, equity terms, and collaboration rules are defined upfront.
04
Skills transfer
Missions are designed to strengthen local teams, not replace them.
05
Shared value
Kolibri receives equity in supported ventures and shares realized value with contributors under each mission’s terms.
06
Transparency
Equity terms, value-sharing rules, risks, liquidity opportunities, and sale or hold decisions are communicated clearly.
Starting focused. Built to travel.
First pilot in preparation: Rwanda
Kolibri is preparing its first pilot in Rwanda because the country brings together entrepreneurial ambition, a growing innovation ecosystem, strong diaspora connections, and a need to better connect specialized skills with the real needs of startups.
The Rwanda pilot will help test the model on concrete missions, build trusted local partnerships, work with future investors and institutions, and refine the way Kolibri combines execution, skills transfer, and shared value.

Be part of Kolibri from the start

An ecosystem partner
An incubator, accelerator, entrepreneur network, diaspora organization, or local ecosystem actor connected to serious founders and SMEs.
An institutional or training partner
A public institution, development actor, foundation, university, or training organization interested in skills transfer and local capacity building.
An investor
A VC fund, angel investor, development finance actor, or funder interested in identifying promising ventures and preparing future financing or liquidity opportunities.
A founder or entrepreneurial SME
A founder building an early-stage venture, or an entrepreneurial SME developing a new product, market, or growth initiative that could benefit from structured operating support.
For partners
Anchor the model locally.
Kolibri is looking to connect with partners who can help identify serious projects, understand real capability gaps, structure skills transfer, prepare future financing pathways, and anchor the model locally.
We are especially interested in speaking with incubators, accelerators, diaspora networks, entrepreneur communities, investors, institutions, training organizations, and development actors connected to startups and SMEs in Rwanda and other emerging markets.
